April TBR: A Mood Reader’s Reading List

I’ve always been more of a mood reader—grabbing whatever pulls me in, not planning too much, and letting stories surprise me. So instead of calling this a strict April TBR (because let’s be honest—I probably won’t stick to it), I’m treating it more like a reading mood board.

These are the books I’m currently reading, and a few I might pick up if the vibe feels right.
If you’re also a mood reader—or just someone who enjoys emotionally intense stories with a touch of chaos—you might find something here for your own list.

Currently Reading

Daisy Haites by Jessa Hastings
So, I’m officially a Daisy girl. I liked Magnolia Parks, but Daisy Haites? Oh. My. God. Next level. Messy drama, toxic relationships, criminal undertones—and I’m devouring it.

Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi
Continuing the Shatter Me series. After Unravel Me, I really got into Juliette’s journey, and I love seeing her grow into her strength. Also very curious to see where the story goes next.

The Lies of Lena by Kylie Snow
A dark romantasy that’s everywhere on bookstagram right now. I’ve heard it leaves you with similar feels to ACOTAR, so obviously I had to pick it up. I’m currently around 30% in, and I love it—the world and the characters already feel familiar and cozy in a strange, magical way.

Maybe-April TBR (aka: no promises)

The Crimson Moth (aka Heartless Hunter) by Kristen Ciccarelli
Another book that’s been all over bookstagram and booktok. I’m finally going to pick it up this month and hoping it lives up to the hype.

Kristin Hannah or Natalie Haynes
I’ve been missing historical fiction and myth retellings lately. Maybe I’ll reach for something painful and beautifully written… or a mythy woman rising from the ashes. Who knows.

Continuing Magnolia Parks
Magnolia Parks left us on a cliffhanger. And even though I like Daisy more, I’m very curious to see what happens next in Magnolia and BJ’s toxic love story.

More from the Shatter Me series
I know myself. Once Ignite Me is done, I’ll reach for the next one. I need to see how Juliette’s story unfolds.

What about you?

Are you the kind of reader who plans every read and sticks to it—or are you winging it like me?
Let me know what’s on your radar this month! Especially if it’s intense, emotional, magical, or quietly brilliant—I’m always looking for my next book obsession.
